Global Voices is partnering with a dog trainer to accommodate our employees’ needs for a better work-life balance.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the future of office work. With all our employees working from home for the past year and having more time for themselves, many welcomed dogs into their lives to make these ruff times a little easier.
At Global Voices, we want to prioritise our employees’ mental health, helping them have a better work-life balance when returning to the offices – and research has demonstrated the positive impact dogs can have on employees. As we welcome more dogs into our offices, we cannot translate barking into our language just yet, but we can focus on creating a safer space to avoid tantrums. Puppy tantrums, that is.
That is why we are teaming up with Dogs at Dawn Ltd, our chosen dog trainers. They will help us bring some harmony into our offices, training our four-legged friends once a week – and possibly some owners too.
The benefits of office dogs
According to a study carried out by Rover.com, 93% of US pandemic pet owners say their pets improved their mental and/or physical wellbeing in the last year. Additionally, over 80% said they made working from home and being at home more enjoyable.
Why not bring this positive environment into our offices? Dog-friendly offices offer multiple benefits, as they make returning to work easier, promote engagement and happiness, and even nurture productivity
A better work-life balance
“Having dogs in the workplace can reduce stress levels and create a more relaxing work environment. This is an excellent idea for workplaces who can implement and bring teams not only together but support the welfare of their dogs while returning to work”, mentions Pamela Sawers, Human Resources Manager.
We are hoping these dog training sessions bring a healthier and more exciting work environment, as well as teaching pet owners very useful skills.
Keep an eye on our social media platforms, where we will be sharing weekly updates on the journey of some of our furry friends!
