Why Your Business Needs Latvian Translation

With Latvia seeing significant growth in industries like finance, IT and transportation, there are more business opportunities in the country than ever before. As more companies around the world cotton on to this, the need for Latvian translation services will continue to increase.

Whilst online translation tools are an easy way to translate content, they do not provide sufficiently accurate translations for business use. Only mother-tongue translators can ensure your Latvian-language documents make complete sense. Here at Global Voices, our language team use their expertise to guarantee the cultural context and exact meaning of your content is carefully considered. They also have knowledge of the language’s various different dialects, meaning your customers will receive the exact message you intended for them every single time.

FAQs

When was the Latvian language formed?

It is not known exactly when the Latvian language originated, but the earliest Latvian texts date from the 16th century. Alongside neighbouring Lithuanian, which it closely resembles, Latvian is one of two living Baltic languages. Baltic languages are considered to be among the most ancient of the remaining Indo-European languages, with Baltic tribes believed to have been around in 98BC.

How many Latvian dialects are there?

There are three Latvian dialects: the Livonian, Upper Latvian and Middle dialects. The Livonian dialect is spoken in the west of the country, Upper Latvian in central and southwestern Latvia, whilst the Middle dialect is spoken in Eastern Latvia. Global Voices will be able to handle translations in any of these dialects.
