In person, real time

In-Person (on-site) - Simultaneous

Real-time interpretation for conferences, summits and multilingual events, delivered live with no pause in proceedings.

When to Choose In-Person (on-site) - Simultaneous

  • Large multilingual conferences or summits — where multiple languages need to be delivered live and continuously, without pausing the speaker.
  • High-stakes or formal events — international diplomacy, board meetings, AGMs, or press conferences where precision and presence matter.
  • Multi-speaker or panel formats — fast-paced discussions, debates, or Q&A sessions where consecutive interpretation would slow the flow.
  • Large audiences requiring real-time listening — attendees using headsets to hear interpretation in their own language simultaneously, without disruption.
  • Complex technical or specialist content — medical, legal, financial or scientific conferences where interpreters benefit from being in the room to read visual materials, body language and context.
  • Sensitive or confidential proceedings — legal hearings, government sessions, or corporate negotiations where on-site presence supports better confidentiality control and non-verbal cue interpretation.
  • Opt for chuchotage (whispered) for small groups of 1-2 listeners where no equipment is required or available

What In-Person (on-site) - Simultaneous Includes

  • Accredited interpreter team — qualified, native-speaking interpreters (working in pairs for longer sessions) briefed on your subject matter and terminology in advance.
  • Full technical equipment — soundproof booths, interpreter consoles, wireless headsets for attendees, and speaker microphones.
  • On-site technical support — a technician present throughout to manage setup, sound checks, and resolve any issues in real time.
  • End-to-end event coordination — pre-event planning call, equipment delivery/breakdown, and on-the-day logistics management.
  • Quality assurance & confidentiality — ISO-aligned interpreter vetting, glossary/terminology alignment, and NDAs available for sensitive events.

Remote, turn taking or real time

Remote (Phone & Video)

On-demand telephone and video interpretation, ideal for urgent, short-notice needs, remote meetings, appointments and hearings from anywhere in the world.

When to Choose Remote Interpretation

  • Urgent or short-notice needs when an interpreter is required immediately and there's no time to arrange an on-site booking
  • Low-frequency or one-off conversations, short appointments, single calls, or occasional multilingual support that doesn't justify an in-person interpreter
  • Geographically dispersed participants, meetings, hearings or consultations where attendees are in different locations or countries
  • Healthcare and social care appointments, GP consultations, telehealth calls, and patient support where speed and accessibility matter most
  • Legal and financial phone consultations, client intake calls, initial consultations, or low-complexity legal/financial discussions
  • Hybrid or virtual events, webinars, virtual conferences, or remote panels where attendees join from multiple locations

What Remote Interpretation Includes

  • Linguistic accuracy: grammar, punctuation, and syntax reviewed against the source document
  • Terminology and brand voice consistency throughout
  • Readability assessment — ensuring the content flows naturally for a native speaker
  • Cultural appropriateness review: formality levels, idiomatic usage, and regional fit
  • Compliance checks available for regulated industries: legal, pharmaceutical, financial
  • Typical turnaround: three to five business days for standard document review

Why Human Interpretation Cannot Be Replaced

Interpreters read tone, emotion and context in real time — no pausing, no editing, no second take.

Everything you need to know before booking interpretation with Global Voices.

What's the difference between simultaneous and consecutive interpretation?

Simultaneous interpretation happens in real time, usually with equipment (booths/headsets), while the speaker continues talking. Consecutive interpretation involves the speaker pausing so the interpreter can relay what was said. We'll recommend the right mode for your event.

For most languages and modes, we recommend at least 3–5 working days. However, we also offer rapid-response remote phone and video interpretation for urgent, short-notice needs.

Yes. All interpreters are accredited, native-speaking professionals vetted for qualifications, experience and subject-matter expertise, in line with our ISO 9001 and ISO 17100 certifications.

Yes, we can arrange interpretation booths, headsets and technical support for in-person events, as well as remote simultaneous interpretation (RSI) platforms for virtual and hybrid meetings.

Remote interpretation covers both on-demand phone interpretation (OPI) and video-based interpretation (RSI/VRI). It connects you to an accredited interpreter almost instantly, without the need for on-site equipment — ideal for urgent needs, remote meetings, appointments and hearings.

We support Public Sector, NGO, Education, Marketing, Mass Communication, Industrial, Consumer and Life Sciences sectors, covering legal proceedings, healthcare appointments, conferences, meetings and live events.

Yes. All bookings and event details are handled in line with GDPR and our confidentiality standards, and we are Cyber Essentials certified to keep your data secure.

Costs typically include the interpreter's professional fee, preparation time, and any equipment or logistics required (such as RSI platforms or on-site booths). We provide a clear, itemised quote before your event begins.
